THE ANDALUSIAN COLLEGE OF JOURNALISTS AWARDS THE HONORARY MEMBER POSTHUMOUSLY DISTINCTION TO JESÚS HERMIDA AND THE MEDAL OF HONOR TO RAFAEL TERÁN.

The Andalusian College of Journalists will award Jesús Hermida the Honorary Member Posthumously distinction, the highest recognition granted by the Public Law Corporation of Andalusian journalists, and Rafael Terán the Medal of Honor. The ceremony will take place during the VI Regional Meeting, held for the first time in the Huelva towns of Isla Cristina and Huelva, from March 28 to 30.

María Nieves ‘Mavi’ and Jaime, the children of Jesús Hermida, received the posthumous Honorary Member distinction from the Andalusian College of Professional Journalists in Huelva.

The ceremony, held at the Jesús Hermida Communication Center, marked the conclusion of the VI Regional Meeting of the Andalusian College of Journalists and coincided with the tenth anniversary of Hermida’s passing.

During the event, speakers highlighted Hermida’s ethical values and groundbreaking contributions to journalism, particularly in television.

On Monday, March 31, bringing the first quarter's cultural program to a close, composers Abel Moreno and Manuel Marvizón visited the Jesús Hermida Communication Center. In a captivating discussion, they shared the stories behind some of their most iconic marches, which were brought to life by a group of musicians from the Huelva Municipal Symphonic Band.

The audience had the chance to explore the deep emotions woven into the melodies of Abel Moreno and Manuel Marvizón—composers who have made history in our Holy Week tradition with hundreds of processional marches.
