The Andalusian College of Journalists will award Jesús Hermida the Honorary Member Posthumously distinction, the highest recognition granted by the Public Law Corporation of Andalusian journalists, and Rafael Terán the Medal of Honor. The ceremony will take place during the VI Regional Meeting, held for the first time in the Huelva towns of Isla Cristina and Huelva, from March 28 to 30.

The official presentation of the Honorary Member Posthumously title to Jesús Hermida will be held on Sunday, March 30, at 12:30 PM, at the communication center that bears his name in Huelva. The event will be attended by his children, María Nieves and Jaime, along with colleagues and friends from the journalism profession.

Jesús Hermida’s professional career as a journalist is widely recognized. Journalism was not only his livelihood but also his true vocation, as he dedicated his life to crafting informative messages for the public.

Tributes from fellow journalists, including Nieves Herrero, Olga Viza, and Mariló Montero, highlight Hermida’s contributions to the evolution of journalism, particularly in audiovisual media and television, where he played a crucial role in its development in Spain. His strong ethical principles, seen as a model for journalists, will also be honored by the Andalusian College of Journalists.
