International Journalism Award to the Jesús Hermida Communication Center

In September of the year 2021, the Associations of Press Correspondents, International Media, and Foreign Press awarded one of its International Journalism Awards to the Jesús Hermida Communication Center, proposed by the Ibero-American Press Correspondents Association (ACPI).

The Jesús Hermida Communication Center in Huelva receives the Communication Award for being "a cultural, museum-like, educational, and research space where one can learn about and showcase the work of Jesús Hermida."

The award ceremony took place at an event held in Madrid at the Cecilio Rodríguez Pavilion, located in the Buen Retiro gardens. Other awardees included Carlos Herrera, awarded for his professional trajectory; María Dueñas, recognized for the international impact of a Spanish author; Women for Africa Association, acknowledged for the defense and promotion of human values; Jordi Socías, awarded the International Photojournalism Prize; Plácido Domingo, honored with the ACPE Culture Award; Madrid's Historical and Singular Parks received the ACPE Tourism Award, and Susana Griso was recognized with the ACPE Journalist Award.

The digital newspaper received the APEAE 2021 award from the Arab Journalists and Writers Association in Spain. At the suggestion of the Ibero-American Press Correspondents Association (ACPI), the Ibero-American Cultural Association was awarded the Cultural Cooperation Prize for its enriching commitment to culture from Huelva to both sides of the Atlantic.

Manuel G Márquez represented the City Council of Huelva, Begoña Fernández attended as the widow of Jesús Hermida, and Rafael J. Terán, the promoter and coordinator of the Communication Center, also participated in the award ceremony.

The International Journalism Award is displayed and can be seen in one of the showcases at the Jesús Hermida Communication Center in Huelva.
