On Thursday, May 4, writer Juan Villa will present his latest book titled "Mal Tiempo" at the Auditorium of the Jesus Hermida Communication Center. The work integrates two novels set in the years of the Spanish Civil War and post-war period in the early 1950s, with Doñana and its surroundings as the backdrop.

In addition to the author, the event will feature writers and poets Carmen Ciria and José Juan Díaz Trillo, who has written the epilogue for the book. In "Mal Tiempo," Juan Villa once again features the landscape of Doñana and the way of life and subsistence of the inhabitants of the territory, which he has dedicated many years of research to, and this is reflected in the majority of his literary work.

Juan Villa, born in Almonte in 1954, holds a degree in Philosophy and Letters. He is a language and literature teacher, a researcher, and a member of the Excellence Project of the P.A.I.D.I.: "Documentary Archive of Perceptions and Representations of Andalusian Landscapes," at the Pablo de Olavide University (Seville). He is also part of the research project on the Habitat of Doñana at the University of Seville.

Since 1990, he has published eight fiction books and an equal number of texts primarily focused on Doñana. He has contributed chapters to essay books, and his texts have been featured in newspapers and specialized magazines. Currently, a screenplay is being developed for a film based on his novel "El año de Malandar," published in 2009.
