Jesús Quintero now has his sculpture in the Walk of Communicators in Huelva
An artwork by Alberto Germán Franco that "immortalizes the journalist and leaves him forever in the memory of our city," highlighted Gabriel Cruz
Huelva has paid tribute today to journalist Jesús Quintero, "a perpetual tribute," as highlighted by Mayor Gabriel Cruz during the inauguration of a bust of the journalist now displayed on the Paseo de los Comunicadores, outside the Communication Center 'Jesús Hermida,' "anchoring him even more to the land he always boasted about and of which he was one of its greatest ambassadors."
At the event, attended by the journalist's wife, María Indiano; his daughter, Andrea Quintero; and the president of the Press Association of Huelva, Juan F. Caballero, as well as numerous communication professionals, the mayor pointed out that "this work of art by Alberto Germán Franco immortalizes Quintero; it leaves him among us forever, in the memory of our city."

"In the Paseo de los Comunicadores, one of the greats of contemporary journalism could not be missing; the master of interviews; the one who created a unique and unrepeatable style in radio and television," emphasized the mayor. And he explained, "Before the journalist passed away, we were already working on this sculpture at the City Hall, and we would have liked him to be here with us today."
The Paseo de los Comunicadores is an initiative promoted by the City Council, in collaboration with the Press Association, aimed at giving visibility to the pioneering role that Huelva has historically played in the media and the history of journalism, through its most illustrious figures, all within the appropriate framework of the Communication Center 'Jesús Hermida,' a museum and research and dissemination space unique in Spain.
A walk that was inaugurated in June 2021 with the bust dedicated to the journalist, intellectual, and politician from Huelva, José Ponce Bernal, and now joined by Jesús Quintero's bust.
