The Jesus Hermida Communication Center hosts the exhibition "Visual Thinking" from May 17 to June 2, a project born from the collaboration of local artists Carmen Gómez Orta and José Ramírez (J.Rajím).

The aim of this joint artistic project is to convey, through painting and photography, the representative qualities of the image as a visual expression of the environment in which they are created and the cultural message they intend to disseminate.

Carmen Gómez portrays the parallel and magical world required for the creation of an oil painting, showing us how she sees, feels, and expresses her inner world in the artwork. She shares what inspires and impassions her in a creative process where she bares her soul and experiences. For the artist, painting is like a balm to color life, regain vitality, and open a window to art and the world. It is a way to step out of her comfort zone, explore the unknown, unleash her true potential, and create another dimension where she can move with complete freedom.

On the other hand, Ramírez (J.Rajím) presents in this exhibition a selection of monochromatic photographs using the "Van Dyke brown" process. This is an ancient photographic process used in the 19th century, involving the positive development of photographs with ferric citrate and silver nitrate, resulting in images reminiscent of the works of the painter Van Dyck.

In 1978, J.Rajím found a plastic and visual perspective in photography, which he conveys in his compositions. He designs both real and abstract images by manipulating techniques and imaginative compositions, interpreting photographic craftsmanship. He has participated in numerous exhibitions and currently collaborates in courses, colloquiums, and conferences in Spain and Portugal. His work has received numerous national and international awards, and his pieces have been exhibited in various galleries and venues in Huelva, Málaga, Tavira, and Portimao.

Similarly, Carmen Gómez Orta has exhibited her paintings in numerous venues in the provinces of Huelva, Badajoz, Málaga, Sevilla, Burgos, León, and La Coruña, as well as in Portugal and at the International Contemporary Art Fair Carrusel DU LOUVRE.
